United States Guides Property Data for GIS & Mapping

Property Data for GIS & Mapping

Building maps or spatial models? Every record carries lat/lng, county FIPS, and where available a parcel APN.

What GIS & mapping teams need

GIS teams need geocoded rows and join keys. Each property includes latitude and longitude, a 5-digit county FIPS code, and a parcel APN where available — enough to map points or join to parcel and boundary layers.

Get it in two ways

Bulk download — grab the whole United States or a single state, county, or ZIP as Parquet or CSV, free and CC0. Best for analysis over many properties at once.

Live API — every row carries an id that's a live endpoint on Straply, for one-property lookups and always-current data.

A practical tip

Filter a state Parquet to the bounding box you need, then join on county FIPS to your boundary shapefiles, or on APN to assessor parcels.

See the data dictionary for every field, or start with how to download.

Frequently asked

Is there free property data for GIS & mapping teams?

Yes — the full U.S. property dataset is free to download under CC0 (public domain), for any use including commercial, with no sign-up.

What's included per property?

Address, location (lat/lng), beds, baths, square footage, lot size, year built, property type, listing status, last sold price and date, plus heating, HOA, and amenity flags. Parquet adds nested price and tax history.
